Winter Warmers will help keep kids warm

In a time when there seems to be plenty of doom and gloom around, we love it when we hear of someone taking positive action.

A new charitable facility has been set up which aims to help keep children on the Isle of Wight warm this winter by handing out donated coats, boots, hats, scarves and gloves to those in need.

The organiser, Katrina Heather, set up the charity after hearing than many families on the Island could not afford to cloth buy warm winter essentials such as coats, hats, boots etc. for their children.

Help for those with a genuine need
You don’t need vouchers to qualify or even be in receipt of benefits, you just need to have a genuine need for your children.

In order to help clothe those in need, Winter Warmers are appealing for donations of good quality coats, hats, boots, scarves and gloves suitable from newborn up to the age of twelve for both boys and girls.

Appeal for volunteers
Katrina is also looking for volunteers to act as a base around the Island. She is still looking for volunteer bases in Cowes and East Cowes, another one in the West Wight Area, and one more in Newport/Carisbrooke area.
