Yarmouth Harbour Planning Application : Chris Lisher (podcast)

Coming up for consideration at the Planning Committee this afternoon (4 2pm) will be a planning application by Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners to reconfigure the harbour berths for yachts, commercial vessels and visitor craft.

Yarmouth Harbour Planning Application : Chris Lisher (podcast)Despite some pretty wide objection from local residents and visitors to the harbour, the application is today being recommended for Conditional Permission.

The applicants argue that the changes are required to “enhance navigational safety in line with their statutory duty and ensure the economic viability of the harbour”, but those against are concerned about the environmental and financial impact the changes will have on the local area.

We caught up with Chris Lisher, the Harbour Master and Chief Executive earlier today. A more detailed podcast to follow, but in the meantime, here’s a snippet regarding the planning permission being sought today.

He explains the changes being sought and what impact that’ll have on the running of the harbour.
