Some very lucky young people are getting the chance this week to try their hand at creating a live pop video which they’ll perform at the Isle of Wight festival in just over a week’s time.
The initiative is a collaboration between the Carnival Learning Centre, Isle of Wight Festival and top international street art company Periplum.
All this week, young people will be working, with Periplum, through a series of challenging workshops.
Developing new skills
We’re told they’ll be exploring skills such as movement, character development, clown, improvisation and interaction. All skills to help them create their living pop videos.
At the end of the week, they’ll perform the live pop videos to their friends and family before taking it to the Isle of Wight Festival next week.
John Giddings, promoter of the Isle of Wight Festival said, “I am delighted to support this project and provide the group with an opportunity to showcase their work in front of an international audience.’
But it doesn’t end there, the group will continue developing performances for key Island events including the Natwest Island Games opening ceremony and 2012 cultural Olympiad celebrations.
