While you’re at the Isle of Wight Festival and there’s a break between the music, there’s quite a few other things to look at that have been made on the Island, like an incredible handmade Yurt covered with beautiful, also-handmade felt panels.
VentnorBlog went along to its launch at Medina High School last Wednesday.
The quality and detail of the design of the felt is really impressive.
Sixteen organisations from across the Island have got involved with the project including seven schools.
Those involved with it should be really proud of the quality of the work both on the outside and the structure inside.
It’s going on a tour around the Island, starting at the IW Festival this weekend, where you can also see Erik Phipps’ carved seat.
We chatted to Stephen Lines, Director of Art at Medina and Helen FuGatt, creative agent, creative partnerships about the project.
We’ve got other podcasts coming about the Yurt soon too.
