As we’re feeling generous, VB is offering some free market research for the Isle of Wight council (IWC).
We’re told the IWC are keen to hear the views of Islanders on the proposed closure of nine of the eleven libraries, so we thought we’d record soundbites from some of those protesting on Saturday at Lord Louis library in Newport.
As you’ll hear, we spoke to a wide range of library users who all seemed pretty unanimous that libraries in areas other than just Newport and Ryde are vital and need to be preserved.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the bleeps in the background of all the books being checked out.
The podcast is just under 20 minutes long, so worth having playing in the background whilst you get on with other things if you’re not able to stop whilst you listen. [audio:http://otw-audio.s3.amazonaws.com/newportlibrarymassbookwithdrawal.mp3]
Thanks to everyone who spoke to us on the day.
