‘Eliminate: Archie Cookson’ Interview with Rob Holder (podcast)

With only two days until the start of the third Minghella Film Festival, things are hotting up on the Isle of Wight.

Archie CooksonOur sister site, OnTheWight, is very proud to be sponsoring a premiere screening on Sunday night as part of the festival and we hope that you’ll be able to join us.

Eliminate: Archie Cookson is an offbeat espionage thriller about a forgotten spy who, after mysteriously receiving incriminating tape recordings, must evade those that want him dead.

The film was written and directed by Bristolian, Rob Holder, who we chatted to on Monday night over a slightly ropey telephone line (listen to the podcast below).

The $1m feature length film, which stars Paul Rhys (Chaplin, Spooks, Being Human) and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered, Sleepy Hollow, Life Is Sweet), was shot in Bristol and Rob told us how the film is only “fresh out of the oven” with the final treatment only being completed in the last week.

Join us on Sunday night
It’s going to be screened on Sunday night at Cineworld, so the festival will be closing with a première as well as opening with one.

A drinks reception beforehand and a Q&A after the film provide a chance to meet and chat to lead-actor, Paul Rhys as well as writer/director, Rob Holder.

The tickets are £10, but this includes a free drink and don’t forget the aims of the Festival are to promote awareness and raise funds for charities that support children and young people on the Isle of Wight, as well as other causes that were close to Anthony Minghella’s heart.

Rob had loads more to say about the making of the film. Listen to the podcast by clicking on the play button below.
