Isle of Wight council partners with national scheme to protect great crested newts
The Isle of Wight Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) is a requirement introduced by the Environment Act 2021 intended to reverse the decline of biodiversity and improve ecological connectivity and functionality across the landscapes of England.
The Isle of Wight was the fourth of 48 responsible authorities in England to publish their LNRS.
