Appeal To Owners Of Dog Trapped At Railway Line

Here’s one from the council we missed last week due to Bestival. Ed

Appeal To Owners Of Dog Trapped At Railway LineIsle of Wight Council’s Dog Warden Service is urging the owners of a dog found trapped next to the Island’s railway line to come forward and claim him.

On Monday 6 September, workmen discovered the small Terrier Cross trapped in brambles at Smallbrook Lane in Ryde. They managed to cut him free and contacted the council’s Dog Warden Service, and two wardens came and collected him.

The dog was found to have a head wound which was infested with fly eggs, and he was immediately taken to a vet where the wound was cleaned up.

RSPCA taking care
He is now being cared for at the RSPCA centre in Godshill and is expected to make a full recovery.

Anyone who may think they own the dog should contact the centre on 840287 or IW Council’s Dog Warden Service on 550980 and provide proof of ownership.

Alternatively, anyone who thinks they may know who owns the dog are also encouraged to get in touch with information.
