TV presenter and Isle of Wight fan, Nick Baker, crossed the Solent for a cycle tour to visit his favourite spots and find out more about the Island's exciting environmental initiatives
The Wightlink in the Community project is a collaboration between Platform One students, Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra, Fusion Arts Academy and others. All proceeds will benefit the Island's NHS charity
Wightlink are not only supporting an Isle of Wight farm, but keeping food miles to a minimum, by sourcing it locally. The amount of milk that they’ve used is enough for a staggering number of cups of tea and coffee!
CEO of the ferry company said they've pledged to do all they can to "protect the sea, land and air around us by keeping the Solent clean, recycling as much as possible and reducing waste and emissions"
This year the appeal is being extended to members of the public, who are invited to donate cat food, treats, toys, cat litter and clean blankets at special drop-off points located in Wightlink’s terminal buildings
