Banksy’s No Future Found On South Coast

Remember the piece we did about street artist, Banksy, coming to the Isle of Wight last month?

Two Banksy artworks, (Keep Britain Tidy and I Love You) were found on the Island, and it was suggested that a third, No Future, which had been uploaded to a another Website at the same time, might have been on the Island too.

There had been much searching across the Island for the possible remaining piece after the Isle of Wight council removed the others, but nothing turned up.

No Future sighting
Until yesterday that is, when VB reader Martin X, got in touch with us to say that he’d found the No Future piece.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the the Island of Wight, but found somewhere on the South Coast of the UK.

Given some council’s keenness to remove these works before considering the value of them, we’re keeping the location under wraps.

Wightlink is taking the mickey out of us. Less ferries = lower running costs for them + higher prices for us (and inconvenience). Wightlink pricing is demand driven (like EasyJet). Less ferries create more demand on the limited ferries that are available, so prices get hiked up. Every announcement that comes out makes it more clear that they couldn’t care less now they’ve escaped the OFT enquiry… Read more »

Here’s another thing, Why should we have to give them more money by having to call their 0871 number to find out when the ferries that they’re canceling are running?

It should be an 0800 number, not goodness knows how much a minute.

don’t use the premium rate number!

02392 827761 & 02392 855230 gets you Ryde & Fishbourne ferries

01590 647638 for Yarmouth/Lymington

not free but will be if you have a free calls package, they will be cheaper than 0871

Let’s start the ‘bad service – raspberry’ awards?
It’s a gret idea and I agree, Wightlink would win hands down.

I hope the Mp is keeping a dossier on their terrible service. And Red Funnel’s of course.

This is awful service. I have been thinking this for a while, but perhaps VB should start a campaign for transparency at all of the ferry companies. Operational reasons aren’t good enough – tell us what is actually wrong! We may not understand it, but if they keep telling us operational reasons are at fault, everyone will just think it is a pack of lies and they… Read more »

Lets go back to the fundamentals shall we? From what i gather the basic problem with the Fishbourne route is that St Clare is unreliable and slow to load, making the use of a 5 ferry summer service extremely difficult and it has been decided that the chaos is not justified given the expense – this is why St Catherine, the traditionally least reliable and least used… Read more »
