Island Roads have issued a road closure notice for Chapel Street.
The road is closed from its junction with Union Street to its junction with St James Street for a distance of 96 metres.
The emergency closure is due to burst water main outside number 44 Chapel Street, Newport.
Diversion
The diversion will affect St James Street, Trafalgar Road and New Street.
