One of Wightlink’s ferries, that has been running since 1973, sailed its last crossing last night.
The vessel, Cædmon – named after the earliest named English poet, was built by the Scottish shipbuilders, Robb Caledon of Dundee, starting its 35 year life on the Portsmouth to Fishbourne route. After ten years of service it shifted to the Yarmouth – Lymington route.
Wightlink will run a two-boat service until their new, shiny craft come into service later this year.
