Cowes RNLI lifeboat rescues more teenagers trapped by tide near Thorness

Three days after Cowes RNLI lifeboat was involved in the rescue of two teenagers at Thorness, the lifeboat was Wednesday evening again tasked to rescue two different teenagers along the same shore.

This time, however, they were two boys and not a girl and boy, and they were caught at the bottom of the cliff by the tide.

Fortunately the Cowes lifeboat was able to quickly respond to a request by the Coastguards, received at 8pm, as they were already out on a night-time exercise.

Two very muddy and cold teenagers
When the crew arrived on the scene they found two very muddy and cold teenagers. They were taken by the lifeboat to Trinity Landing, where they were received by Island coastguards.

Then the mother of the especially cold youngster drove him to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

The lifeboat returned to station at 8.45pm.
