Cowes Cardboard Boat Race

Don’t miss the Cowes Cardboard Boat Race this Sunday

This year’s Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week will see the return of one of the most popular events from 2014, the Cowes Cardboard Boat Race.

Last year’s event saw 13 teams take part in the inaugural race, which helps raise money for the sailing charity, and official Cowes Week charity partner, UKSA (UKSA.org).

The race takes place on family day (Sunday 9th August) at 3pm, starting and finishing from the Cowes RNLI slipway on the parade.

Tony Downs, organiser of the event said,

“We are really excited about this years race, and hope it will be even more exciting than last year.”

He continued,

“Last year was a lot of fun and we are looking to make it even more thrilling this Cowes Week and have some surprises in store.

“There will be a number of races between those competing, following that all rules are removed for a game of ‘death and destruction’, to see who sinks first.”
