Today (Thursday), a video by yoppul, shot with the Isle of Wight 2015 election candidates, revealed that Andrew Turner lists Enoch Powell as one of his inspirations.
When the candidates were asked for their greatest inspiration, Andrew Turner listed Enoch Powell, alongside Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher, who he said “is brilliant.”
‘Rivers of Blood’ speech
Enoch Powell is best known for his ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech, given in Birmingham in 1968, shortly before the second-reading of the Race Relations Act.
The next morning he was sacked from his job as shadow defence secretary by the then-PM Edward Heath.
It was recently revealed that Powell is being investigated as an alleged member of a claimed Westminster paedophile network.

The full text of Andrew Turner’s response on Enoch Powell was, “Enoch Powell was a very significant member of the Conservative Party, who was unsuccessful, but he made a lot of people realise there were issues in the 1960s and 70s, which we are just beginning/becoming …”
Andrew, perhaps due to what we’ve been told is Aphasia, struggles to find the words to continue. Re-listening to the recording a number of times, it appears that he is then prompted (10:48) by someone else in the room, which kickstarts him again.
He concluded what he was saying about Enoch Powell by finishing, “We understand that there are changes now that have happened to our country.”
