Last call for all blues fans.
Tomorrow night sees the return of Spring Blues to the Island, this time to the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
Errol Linton, three times winner of Blues Harp Player of the year, will be bringing his band The Blues Vibe, and dishing up eclectic British blues, but with a nod to his Caribbean heritage.
Singer, songwriter, harp player and bandleader, Errol carries the legacy of Little Walter, Junior Wells and Sonny Boy Williamson into the twenty first century, moving the genre forward by combining 50’s Chicago blues with gentle Jamaica rhythms.
Also on the bill are The Amen Boogie Blues Band.
A local band who, while gigging the IOW pub circuit during the last 10 years, have built a reputation as one of the Island’s top blues acts performing blues standards by the likes of Muddy Waters, Son House, Elmore James, John Mayall and The Blues Band.
Clive Thomas will open the evening playing some fine acoustic country blues.
Tickets, £12 advance / £14 on the door, are available from Ventnor Winter Gardens box office: 01983 857581 and Waterstone’s bookshop, Newport 01983 527927
