Family Information Zone on the move

This in from the council, in their own words. Ed

The Isle of Wight Council has issued new contact details for its Family Information Zone (FIZ) service, which from Monday 18 January will no longer be operating from its Orchard Street, Newport premises.

The redesigned service will provide information, advice and assistance to parents and prospective parents about local childcare.

Improved online and digital info
There will be improved online and digital information available for families and the service will focus on its statutory responsibilities set out in the 2006 Childcare Act.

The redesign will involve the service becoming more accessible through working closely and in partnership with the Island’s three family centre hubs, in Sandown, Ryde and Carisbrooke.

New numbers
From Monday 18 January the FIZ service will have a new contact number – (01983) 823349 – to which all telephone enquiries should be directed. Any callers ringing the old number will hear a message advising them of the new number.

The family centre hub locations and numbers are:

  • South Wight: The Bays Family Centre, Sandown – (01983) 408718;
  • North East Wight: Ryde Family Centre, Ryde – (01983) 617617;
  • West and Central Wight: West Newport Family Centre, Carisbrooke – (01983) 537390.
