Gatcombe and Chillerton Scarecrow Festival returns for 2022

The Gatcombe and Chillerton Scarecrow Festival is back this year, from Saturday 28th May through to Friday 3rd June.

This free event invites visitors to the two villages to look at the Scarecrows that have been made and displayed by villagers in their gardens and around the Village.

100 scarecrows on display
There will be over 100 scarecrows on display from traditional Gallybaggers to those on a more modern theme.

Aunt Sally’s Tea rooms will be open in the Chillerton Village Hall (11am-4pm) every day serving teas and delicious cakes homemade by villagers.

Live music
The Gallybagger Inn, our local pub, will also be open at these times, along with special opening and closing events.

On Saturday 28th May there’ll be live music with Mark Bennett and on Friday 3rd June, enjoy End of the Line duo play live.

Your vote counts
There will be a peoples’ vote for the best three scarecrows in show with voting slips at Aunt Sally’s and The Gallybagger.

Visit the Gallybagger Website for more information.
