‘How To Get Published’ with bestselling author Louise Voss

Medina Bookshop continues to encourage local writers with their ‘How To Get Published’ talk with best-selling author Louise Voss.

At 7pm on Tuesday 24th May, budding writers will have the opportunity to pick up invaluable tips on the best way to go about getting their books published from best-selling author Louise Voss.

Having released 14 titles over her 20 year writing career, Louise has had books out via pretty much every publishing model there is, from deals with major traditional publishing houses (Transworld and Harper Collins), to digital-only (Amazon-owned Thomas and Mercer) and self-publishing, so she knows a thing or two.

A variety of styles
The Salisbury based author has written in a number of styles, psychological thrillers, police procedurals and contemporary fiction, several written with co-author Mark Edwards. Their book Catch your Death, was the first novel by independent authors to reach Number One on Amazon back in 2011.

Her latest thriller His Other Woman was published in July of last year on both sides of the Atlantic to rave reviews, the Washington Post saying it ‘…kept me on the edge of my seat’.

Book your seat
The evening presentation will take the form of an informal conversation with shop manager Paul Armfield and there will be plenty of opportunity for the audience to ask their own questions.

Tickets are £6 from Medina Bookshop on Cowes High Street or from the Website.

Armfield: The Island is such a hotbed of literary talent
Medina Bookshop have been encouraging local authors this year with the Isle of Wight Book Awards which received over 100 entries, and will become an annual event.

Manager Paul Armfield says,

‘The Island is such a hotbed of literary talent, barely a day goes by without a customer revealing to me that they’ve written a book. Invariably they ask for advice on how to get published, it’s such a difficult question to answer but we hope that by creating opportunities such as this we can provide practical support and guidance, and hopefully inspiration.

“Who knows? There might be several potential best-selling authors in the audience on the 24th, just needing that little nudge in the right direction, we hope so!’
