Hampshire Chief Superintendent role for Island police commander

Hampshire Constabulary’s Isle of Wight police commander Superintendent Will Schofield will be making a move over the Solent next week in a six month temporary move to take up the position of Hampshire Constabulary’s Eastern Area Commander.

Will SchofieldAs Area commander, Superintendent Schofield will continue to oversee the Isle of Wight, as well as taking on Portsmouth, Havant, Fareham and Gosport.

The temporary six-month promotion to Chief Superintendent is taking place whilst Temporary Chief Superintendent Richard John, works on the change plans within the force.

Superintendent Will Schofield said,

“While I am looking forward to the new challenge, I’m sad to be leaving the island for the time being. I have thoroughly enjoyed working here to provide an excellent service to the community in this unique environment.

“A temporary Superintendent is being sought to cover the Isle of Wight.

“As the Eastern Area commander, I will still be actively involved with the Isle of Wight and visiting regularly. I’m keen to ensure we maintain the momentum we’ve built towards reducing crime.”
