Last year the 70 wonderful volunteer watchkeepers kept lookout at Needles Coastwatch for 6,710 hours, maintaining the station for 365 days in all weathers. Well done to them all!

The MayDay came in just before 5pm yesterday afternoon and the sailor was rescued at 4am this morning some 40 miles from the area of the initial search.
