Islanders To Cycle 520 Miles For Children’s Hospice

On 3rd June, two challenge-thirsty lads from the Isle of Wight are planning to cycle to Land’s End in Cornwall and back again.

As if that wasn’t enough of a mean feat, they’re actually going to attempt the 520 miles in just five days.

The reason for their challenge? They’re hoping to raise much needed cash and awareness for the Naomi House and jacksplace children’s hospices.

Matt Harris and Rob Cooch (from Vectis Roads Cycling Club) are the two pedal pushers who plan to take part in the challenge and have been keeping a blog of their training progress.

The lads are being sponsored by Tav Cycles, Re-Cycle-d and Wight Mountain and hope that you’ll be able to put your hands in your pockets to help them reach their target.

If you haven’t heard of Naomi House or jacksplace before, they are hospices for children and young adults that provide support for those with conditions that mean they are unlikely to live to become adults.

It’s a wonderful cause, so if you can spare a few pounds (or more) visit the Just Giving page to make your donation.

Best of luck lads. Let us know how the fundraising goes.
