Comment
Ian Dunsire (English Democrats Party) disagrees
“Wind turbines have their place but I am far from convinced that Cheverton Down is it! If Vestas were still manufacturing then I might hold a different view but they’ve gone to seek lower production costs elsewhere.”

Bob Keats (Green Party) strongly agrees
“Climate change is the most significant risk facing humanity. Eco-Island has not provided any renewable energy. It is time to act NOW!”

Pete Harris (Independent) agrees
“Wind Turbines are obtrusive, on that there is no question. They are however temporary structures removable again in a day. We need the power, that’s the bottom line.”

Paul Martin (Middle England Party) disagrees
“Wind farms off the coast are a far better overall proposition without the perpetual NIMBY argument frustrating the process.”

Paul David Randle-Jolliffe (Independent) is neutral
“The approach to turbines wave and tide should be through local ownership by the whole community and those who would be adversely affected by such should be offered compensation like free electricy this might create parnership rather than conflict.”

Mark Chiverton  (Labour Party) agrees
“If Eco Island is to be a genuine reality it is important that the IW should play its part in ensuring that the UK reduces its overdependence on nuclear power and fossil fuels.”

Michael Tarrant  (UK Independence Party – UKIP) strongly disagrees
“I don’t believe wind turbines are currently cost effective”

Jill Wareham  (Liberal Democrats) strongly agrees

Those who didn’t provide responses: Andrew Turner – Conservative, Geof Clynch – BNP and Edward Corby – Independent
