Sam Jefferies, a volunteer who has a learning disability, has bravely spoken up and helped to drive the campaign to tackle the root causes of injustice forward.

He claims Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the ‘Work Related Activity Group’ and could stand to lose £30 a week – a third of this benefit – under the new plans.

Active campaigning
Sam has supported the campaign by talking directly to MPs and Lords; giving evidence as part of a Review-led by three members of the House of Lords, giving a speech at the launch of this Review, travelling from the Isle of Wight to attend a mass lobby of MPs in Parliament, sharing his personal story online and in the national media showing how he could be affected by the changes, and using his own Twitter account to support the campaign and spread the message to his 1,000+ followers.
