When you look at the size of the Isle of Wight Festival, it makes you wonder how many people are involved with putting it together.
Frankly it’s massive and there’s over 50k people there looking to have a good time.
We thought we’d take the opportunity to ask someone who should know about this kind of thing – John Giddings, promoter of the Festival.
Sitting in his personal golf buggy, at rest in the relaxed Solo backstage area, we asked him to go into detail.
Around 25-30 people are employed all year round, including ten heads of department.
As the festival gets closer to the event close to 4,000 are employed over a two to four week period.
