Isle of Wight surfer Johnny Fryer does it again! As well as winning the title in 2010, the man gets crowned surfing champ yet again.
After several postponements due to bad weather, the event finally took place recently in Watergate Bay, Cornwall.
Andy Sturt reports for the English Surfing Federation that with 2-3ft surf rolling through Watergate Bay all day, the finals got started in the early evening.
The Men’s Final was an array of progressive surfing from all four surfers, each posting impressive scores, but it was the the consistency of ‘goofy-footed’ Johnny Fryer who attacked on his backhand, bagging his second English National title.
Well done Johnny, not only for your personal acheivement, but also representing the Isle of Wight. We love you!
