Last chance to see: A Hundred Seas Rising Suki Chan

We sent work experience Sixth Form student Hannah Mew into Newport this week to check out some of the exhibitions on offer. Ed

On arriving at the exhibition I was both shocked and surprised at the work that was being showcased. It was nothing that I had expected, in fact it was much more.

Inspiring
I learnt that the exhibition was inspired by Charles Dickens’ novel, A tale of Two Cities.

In the large space that Quay Arts Centre offers, the exhibition hall was full from wall to wall with lines of different sizes and shapes of wooden school desks. Each desk was fitted with a speaker.

Although I was stepping into an empty room, I was unaware of this as the sound projecting out of the room, made it seem full with people inside.

Walking around the room, I felt inspired by the effort and thought that had gone into the planning of the exhibition, and the pure talent behind the idea.

The experience of the future!
The experience is something that I feel we will be seeing again in the future. And would strongly suggest you all pay a visit to this up and coming exhibition showcasing an original idea, a true passion for art.

The exhibition finishes at 4pm Saturday 1st December.
