Liam Madden's Film Review: Simon SaysAh Ventnor Library. Answering some of the more unanswerable questions over time. Therefore the inadvertent question raised in the year 1990 by an Indie thrash band, who released a song entitled; “Where the hell is Crispin Glover?” has possibly been answered.

Over twenty years with three films released, amongst them ‘Dead Man’ and ‘Lost Highway,’ could well have been clues, as long as the original question is not referring to physical Geography.

Released in 2006, ‘Simon Says’ is the only film that actually gives Crispin Glover the starring treatment and its director Bill Dear deserves some serious credit for actually persuading this to occur.

As a movie that is well made, yet surprisingly unimaginative, yet could be termed as ‘another gore fest in a forest’ kind of caper, it is not too bad. The only reason to be watching it at all is really for the infamous Crispin Glover.

Acting as two separate characters that are evil twins, Crispin Glover does manage to be both alarmingly convincing as an ominous presence throughout the movie, allowing any viewer watching ‘Simon Says’ to take heed of his acting skills. Although technically admirable, with somewhat gruesome effects, the writing misses some serious opportunities that could have raised ‘Simon Says’ to a considerable level.

Yet as for a movie star who manages to accurately portray weirdness and also dedication to being highly professional, very few American actors in films or movies can achieve the level that Crispin Glover can, so unnervingly accurately.
