Author Stephen Davies visited the Isle of Wight last week (24th March 2026) to mark Daisy Morris’s inclusion in his new children’s book, Young Discoverers.
The event took place at Niton Primary School – the former school of Daisy, who grew up in nearby Whitwell.

Young Discoverers collects 12 true stories of children aged four to eighteen who made remarkable discoveries, spanning everything from pharaohs’ tombs to cave paintings and fossils.
Daisy features in the book for her discovery of a new species of pterosaur in 2008, when she was just four years old. Now 22, she remains one of the youngest people ever to have a prehistoric species named after them.

Workshop and book sales
Stephen interviewed Daisy at the event before running a creative writing workshop for pupils at the school.
Copies of the book were available for sale on the day.
