This in from the council, in their own words. Ed
The facility on the council’s iwight.com website is interactive and searchable and brings together information from all the policies of the Island Plan – the Island’s guiding planning document.
It also features information on flood risk areas, conservation areas, protected trees and the Island’s area of outstanding natural beauty.
As well as being useful to local communities – including those looking to develop their own neighbourhood plans – the map can assist developers needing to understand policies before submitting their plans.
Executive member for planning and regulatory services, Councillor Jonathan Bacon, said:
“This new online facility is designed to provide readily accessible information for people interested in planning policies affecting in their area.
“We hope it will assist in helping the public understanding both the policies and the process by which decisions are made for applications in their communities.”
See the map (BTW Lots of data on the map, so best not viewed on a mobile. Also explains pause between loading the map and it displaying on a broadband connection – Ed) and it’s instructions.
