Plans for 24 new homes on site of former Hosiden Besson factory

An application for outline planning permission for 24 houses and bungalows on land off Binstead Road has been lodged with the Isle of Wight council.

The plans include the clearance of derelict foundations and concrete ground floor structures of the now-demolished former industrial building, replaced with a mix of two, three and four-bedroomed semi-detached, terraced and detached bungalows and housing.

Former Hosiden Besson factory site
The former Hosiden Besson factory site is surrounded on three sides by residential properties, and the architect for the applicant, Robert Gray Design, explains that the development is a positive response to local housing needs.

They go on to say that the design, layout and orientation of the properties should ensure a positive impact on neighbouring residential properties.
