Revealed: Covid-19 vaccination percentages across 18 Isle of Wight areas

News OnTheWight has got hold of the latest available Government data showing what percentage of the population have had their first and second Covid vaccine shots.

The full table of 18 areas of the Isle of Wight are listed below.

Data simplified
The data, updated yesterday (6th Jul 2021) has been simplified, taking the values just down to the whole numbers, rounding up or down accordingly.

There can be a number of different reasons as to why percentages might be low, (beyond the obvious that people might not have had shots), for example if the area has a lot of young people in it.

First shot
The joint highest areas for first vaccination shots are Bembridge and Nettlestone and Yarmouth and Freshwater, sharing 90 per cent coverage.

At the other end of the table, the lowest is Ryde Central at 78 per cent – slightly above three quarters.

The average across the 18 areas of the Island is 84 per cent.

Second shot
When it comes to second shot, Yarmouth and Freshwater is just slightly higher, at 83 per cent, than their previous level-pegging area, Bembridge and Nettlestone.

Things at the lower end shift around from the first shot order, with Newport Central and Parkhurst West having 61 per cent.

The average for second shots across the 18 areas of the Island is 71 per cent.
