Sophie Rolf:

Six year old Islander, Sophie Rolf, passes away

The wonderfully bubbly and brave six year old from West Wight,Sophie Rolf, who has been fighting a brain tumour for the last 16 months, sadly passed away last night.

Sophie captured the hearts of many Islanders after she was diagnosed with a brain tumour just before her fifth birthday.

Friends and family, especially her parents, Aaron and Gemma, did everything possible to ensure that the time Sophie had in this world was full of love and joy.

Community fundraising
After her diagnosis was announced in July 2012, Islanders came out in force to raise money for KissyPuppy, the Sophie Rolf Fund.

Earlier this year the Fund reached its first £10,000 target and donated the funds to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice to help towards children’s services.

Farewell message
A message from Sophie’s parents was posted to the KissyPuppy website this morning,

Farewell Sophie xx
At just after 8.30 last night our beautiful butterfly passed away.

She was with her family who will always love her and treasure the time they had with her.

She was strong til the end and made the world a better place.

No wonder God wanted her….

Our sincerest thoughts are with all those who knew Sophie.
