Over the weekend, despite the forecast of bad weather, many Islanders took the opportunity of the low tides to walk out to St Helens Fort.
Although the unofficial annual fort walk was originally anticipated to take place on Sunday evening, the conditions were good enough on Friday evening, which saw three Islanders who’d read the tides correctly make the journey by foot to the fort.
Some attempted the walk on Sunday morning, whilst many others (in their hundreds) walked on late Sunday afternoon.
