St Mary’s Hygiene Update

You may remember our report back on 17th June about a diarrhoea and vomiting outbreak in St Mary’s hospital.

Hand washingVisitors were limited to visiting times and precautions were taken for hygiene. The hospital has now reported that there have been no more incidents.

However, they inform visitors to the hospital that hand hygiene remains of vital importance.

As we’re often told, germs spread quickly, so please make sure you keep your hands clean at all times.

Shane Moody, Deputy Chief Nurse and Head of Clinical Standards at NHS Isle of Wight said: “We would like to thank all visitors and patients for your support during this period. Everyone can play their part in keeping bugs at bay when visiting healthcare facilities.”

Check the NHS website for visiting times.
