Test of ‘cat killer’ bag of animal remains provides relief for cat lovers

Further to reports in the media last week that the M25 Cat Killer may have struck again on the Isle of Wight, police have confirmed a recent bag of animal remains were not cats.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said,

“You may have seen in the media some reports about a bag of animal remains being discovered in the Medina River, on the Isle of Wight.

“We would like to reassure residents that tests by the RSPCA have confirmed that these remains were that of wild rabbits and not cats.

“If you have any concerns about the welfare of animals please contact the RSPCA.”
