Come and join us at the annual Sandman Snowman Spectacular on Hope Beach, Shanklin on Saturday 22 January, 2011 at 11am.
This is your chance to make a snowman “¦ out of sand!
We’ll supply the carrots, coal and hot chocolate all you need to bring are spades, warm clothing and lots of enthusiasm.
The event is now in its fifth year and being run again by Ian Boyd of Natural Enterprise,
“The Isle of Wight never used to get much snow and this was the perfect opportunity to make snowmen, albeit out of sand. But with all the practice due to the recent snow I’m sure we can expect more Sandmen Snowmen of all shapes and sizes on Hope Beach.”
He continued “We have lots of people taking part each year, and even more passing by to have a look at the amazing creations being built. The day is free; all we ask is for a donation to Gift to Nature which supports our ongoing conservation work across the Island”.
