The number of unemployed claimants on the Isle of Wight continues to rise.
According to the Office for National Statistics, the number of unemployed claimants on the Island in December 2010, increased to 3,348.
The number of claimants is 217 lower than in December 2009 and 265 higher than in November 2010. (These data are not seasonally adjusted)
This represents a rate of 5.5% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 221st highest of the 650 UK constituencies.
