Ventnor Beer Festival

Regular followers of VB may already have read about the Cream Tease Burlseque night planned for the Winter Gardens on Saturday, but also taking place at the same venue at the end of the week is the first Ventnor Beer Festival.

Ventnor Beer FestivalIf you’re a real ale fan, then the Ventnor Winter Gardens is where you should be heading this weekend. We understand that there are going to be at least two barrels of Ventnor Golden, so this could be your last chance to sup the award winning ale from the late Ventnor Brewery.

Friday
The action kicks off on Friday from noon with a whole host of real ales on offer, accompanied by live folk music over the weekend from the likes of Spiletappa, BAR:TON and The Fistral Backpackers.

Over the entire weekend, there’ll be lots of local stalls serving hot and cold food

Saturday
It wouldn’t be a beer festival in Ventnor without an appearance from The Ventnor Comic Jazz Band, so expect to catch them around the Winter Gardens (probably propping up the bar) at some point during the day.

There’ll also be plenty of other live music during the day which finishes at 5.30pm, giving you a chance to go home freshen up and be back in time for the evening proceedings.

Lady Catalina presents the first ever burlesque show on the Isle of Wight which runs between 8.30 and 9.30pm.

Following that, those super groovy guys from Pink Pussycat (not Pink Panther as advertised) will be spinning their funkiest vinyl as you hit the dance floor.

Sunday
Sunday continues from 11.30am with all the usual until 4.30pm.

Again, time to go home and freshen up before heading back out for an evening of jazz.

A local jazz sextet are encouraging any jazz musicians to come down and join in. They’d love to see about 20 or 30 musicians on the stage at the same time.

How much?
Tickets for the daytime events are £5 which we’re told gives you your first half pint of ale for free, or a glass of wine for the ladies (???? some of us like beer too!).

The Burlesque on Saturday night is £10 tickets available at the Box Office or behind the Bar

Sunday nights Jazz £4 on the door on the night.
