Applause prompter:

Ventnor Timebank continuing to add great value to the community

Thanks to Sarah for sharing the good news of the Ventnor Timebank. Ed

A celebration of the achievements of Ventnor Timebank Members will take place on Monday 12th May, from 6.30pm at the Crab and Lobster Tap in Ventnor.

Thanks to grant funding from the Lottery’s Awards for All funding scheme, Ventnor Timebank was able to offer a number of Timebank members accredited training which will be used in volunteering or in pursuit of new employment opportunities.

Wide variety of qualifications achieved
35 training places were filled by local community and voluntary group members who were new to the Timebank, existing Timebank members and new members who have joined us through the 9-5 employment support drop in at Ventnor Library.

Qualifications were chosen to ensure they were useful in the voluntary sector and also a good CV addition. CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering and also CIEH Level 2 Award in Healthier Foods/Special Diets Award in Healthier Foods/Special Diets were offered along with an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

The training took place in March all the learners now have their certificates.

Financial skills to help the community
In addition to the group training, we were thrilled to hear that one Timebank member successfully gained a Level 3 Qualification in Financial Capability which was offered through Ventnor Timebank.

She was supported by the to attend the sessions in Portsmouth but worked very hard on developing her own micro-teach and final assignment. She is planning to move on and use this skill in her community.

Marking the achievements so far
This get together It is mainly to congratulate those who have successfully completed training set up by Timebank, but it will be open to all Timebank members.
