Following the news about the formation of the Ventnor Winter Gardens Rescue Group.
At Wednesday evening’s Ventnor Town Council meeting (full report to follow on VB), Isle of Wight Council’s Deputy Director for Economy and Tourism, John Metcalfe, told councillors and members of the public that they had already received contact from five parties interested in finding out more about taking over the Winter Gardens.
Hopeful for a solution
Marketing for the lease to run the venue will commence at the end of the month and it’s thought that the deadline for submissions would be around 5-6 weeks after it’d been advertised.
Metcalfe went on to say that it’d take 6-8 weeks to identify the preferred bidder, with several weeks of negotiation to follow.
He was hopeful that a solution would be found to ensure the Winter Gardens would be able to continue as a venue and community asset.
