Vestas Sit-in: National Media Goes Large On Coverage

Many areas of the media chose to send down the Big Guns to cover Vestas over the last couple of days.

Paul Lewis and Shehani Fernando came down for a couple of days to interview, report and video the unfolding events.

Their work has paid off as their video report has hit the front page of the Guardian’s Website.

BBC Newsnight
BBC reporter Justin Rowlatt and his film crew were down for the day to compile a report that lead on Newsnight last night.

Lucky for Newsnight, a Vestas spokesperson appeared on film. The vast majority of the media have had no response from enquiries, making it next to impossible to present their side of the story.

Vestas on BBC NewsnightA debate with Cabinet member Ed Miliband, Adrian Snook (Stop the spin, opposing wind turbines in Northamptonshire) and Robin Oakley of Greenpeace took place after the film, with the whole section running for about one third of the programme.

Emma Simpson, the programmes business correspondent, came to the Island as well , having a segment on the main BBC News programme at six.
