West Wight Triathlon returns this Sunday

This Sunday (30th September) sees the return of the West Wight Triathlon.

Competitors will be taking on the challenge of a 600m swim in the pool at West Wight Sports Centre, followed by a 35km bike ride and 7.5km run.

A team of volunteers and staff will be making sure that all goes according to plan on the day and members of the public are invited to spectate and cheer on the competitors.

Raising money for Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
Organisers have again teamed up with The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and competitors will be hoping to raise money for this very worthy cause.

The event kicks off at the West Wight Sports Centre and competitors will start swimming at 9am.

Comedic team names
As well as individuals taking part, there are lots of teams competing too, with names such as the ‘Sore Butt Shufflers’, ‘R we there yet?!!’ and ‘Knobs and Knockers’.

We hope to be able to cheer on those taking part on Sunday, but if we don’t make it along, best to luck to everyone taking part and three cheers to those organising, marshalling and supporting the event.
