Wightlink sent us this following the RMT release about a strike ballot tomorrow. In their words – Ed.
Wightlink is disappointed by the decision of the RMT to hold a ballot for industrial action, in relation to the trade dispute concerning the dismissal of an RMT representative for gross misconduct, whilst the internal appeal process is still ongoing.
Wightlink have a duty to maintain the highest standards of health and safety, for both staff and passengers and therefore regrets that the RMT considers it appropriate to take this action.
