Teenagers pumps:

Young writers invited to join the IOW Writer Squad

This in from Ceri, in her own words, Ed

Writer Squads are New Writing South’s flagship project to support the development of young writers across the south east. The sessions include introductions to a wide range of writing styles, from poetry to playwriting and lyrics to flash fiction, to support the development of young writers in the region.

Run by playwright
Playwright, Sean Tyler, runs the Writer Squad. Sean’s plays are performed on both sides of the Atlantic.

He is resident playwright with Godlight Theatre Company, New York, and is developing several projects with them.

Meet one Saturday per month
The Squads meet once a month on a Saturday, and are run by a professional writer, the ‘Squad Leader’, as well as having visits by exciting guest writers.

This isn’t like school; this isn’t like a writing group, because the young writers lead the group.

Where and when
IOW Writer Squad meets once a month on a Saturday at Quay Arts from 2pm – 5pm on the dates with more to follow:

22nd February
22nd March
26th April
24th May
21st June

Young Writers wanting to be part of the IOW Writer Squad are invited to send their name, age and contact details to: [email protected]
