Thanks to Rachel Day for pointing out that over the weekend, the Isle of Wight was top of the charts – of Highest Wind Speeds in the UK, that is.
St Catherine’s Point, Isle of Wight hitting a joint-highest, with a maximum gust of 69 mph overnight on the Saturday/Sunday, with third place also going to Needles Old Battery, Isle of Wight with 67 mph (source).
