35 sacks of rubbish collected at East Cowes beach clean

The Fight Against Environmental Contamination of Estuaries and Seafronts (FAECES) and Surfers Against Sewage carried out their ‘Spring Beach Clean’ in East Cowes on Sunday afternoon.

The beach clean, by 35 residents, took place from Castle Point to the Columbine Building.

A whopping 35 black sacks of rubbish were collected.

Michael Douse told OnTheWight,

“Others taking part included, County Councillor Luisa Hillard and her family, CPSO Steve Hull, lots of lovely children, two well-behaved dogs, and several senior citizens.”

The beach clean was supported with equipment from the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and Surfers Against Sewage.
