The newly-elected Conservative Isle of Wight MP, Bob Seely, took a delegation of councillors and officers to meet the Department for Education today to put forward their case on behalf of the Sandown community.

The Isle of Wight council looks set to approve a five year extension for education and children’s safeguarding to be managed by Hampshire council officers, after improvements were ordered by Ofsted during the last Conservative administration.
Members of the public will be invited to have their say on the new plans for all-through education in Sandown. One big change will be the sixth form, which needs to have at least 200 students but only has 39 in Year 12 at the moment.
