Cllr Michael Lilley will ask the Isle of Wight council to support the Red Box Project, which raises awareness and provides free sanitary products in schools across the Island.
The Isle of Wight branch of the Red Box Project was set up by Katharine Spencer-Brown in October 2018.
Part of a non-political, community-led, national initiative, the Red Box Project aims to bring an end of period poverty in schools.
Red Boxes are filled with sanitary items and knickers in discreet bags for young women who are forced to miss school because they can’t afford sanitary items.
