Good news for blade manufacturing on the Isle of Wight as MHI Vestas Offshore Wind is named as preferred bidder for the proposed Navitus Bay wind farm.
MHI Vestas - the world leading offshore wind project company - has announced 70 new jobs at its blade production facility on the Isle of Wight this week.
The project celebrates the Island based manufacturer's contribution to the UK economy, advances in offshore wind technology, and the rapidly falling cost of electricity from offshore wind.
At least 100 highly skilled engineer and technician jobs, as well as 150 supply chain roles are planned by GE in Southampton - rivaling Vestas on the Isle of Wight.
